UniCarriers Europe appoints new COO

On 1st February 2015, Thomas Wiklund (51) takes up his position as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sales and Service at UniCarriers Europe GmbH. He succeeds Keiji Ikeda, who is moving to the Japanese head office of the group. He reports to Nobuo Yoh, CEO and President of UniCarriers Europe. 

Thomas-Wiklund_New-COO_UniCarriersWith the appointment of Thomas Wiklund as the new COO for Sales and Services, UniCarriers moves forward with the extended focus of its European sales network under the leadership of an European senior management. The main objectives of the new COO of sales and services are to secure further growth, marketshares and profit in Europe. “UniCarriers has a broad spectrum of modern material handling solutions with a high potential to further growth. As part of the UniCarriers senior management team the task is to turn that potential into profitability. I am very excited to leverage my experience from similar situations and join a team of great professionals”, says Thomas Wiklund.

Thomas Wiklund brings extensive knowledge of the market for industrial trucks and material handling solutions: He worked for Cargotec group for a total of eight years as president of the Kalmar Material Handling Division where he achieved the doubling of sales in three years and secured global market leadership.

Keiji Ikeda has spent a total of ten years of his career in Europe, during which time he has had a decisive influence on the establishment and present structure of UniCarriers Europe. He now returns to his home in Japan, where he will focus on new tasks within the UniCarriers group.
