GX counterbalance truck rolls off the production line in Spain from 2015

Written by UniCarriers, 5-sep-2014 11:34:00

Individual solutions for the European forklift market – to position itself more broadly in the counterbalance area, UniCarriers is moving the production of its GX range from Japan to Spain. From January 2015, the first forklifts in the series will roll off the production line in Pamplona. As a result of the change in production, customers will benefit from shorter delivery times, more flexible customisation of the counterbalance truck to European needs and a more economical price. Moreover, the model range scores points with the familiar, high product quality and efficient motors.

UniCarriers-Counterbalance-Truck-GXAs a complete supplier, in addition to warehouse forklifts, UniCarriers offers its customers a broad range of counterbalance trucks for heavy logistical applications. By relocating the GX production to Spain, the international forklift manufacturer aligns its range of counterbalance trucks more strongly to the needs on the European market and guarantees maximum proximity to its customers. The model range has load capacities of 3,500 (GX 35) to 5,000 (GX 50) kilograms and lifting heights up to seven metres. It is therefore particularly suited to handling long and heavy goods outdoors, such as in the steel, brick or timber industry.

Two drive variants

The GX series offers high-performance motors and is optionally available with a diesel or liquid gas (LPG) drive. The six-cylinder LPG motor is fitted with an electronic fuel injection. Improved productivity and fuel efficiency are ensured by the optional Electronic Concentrated Control System (ECCS). This technology allows monitoring of the ignition timing, idling and fuel injection. The four-cylinder diesel motor is equipped as standard with oxidation catalysts and particle filters that particularly reduce the emissions. Furthermore, both drives can be optionally fitted with a Power/ECO function, which further reduces the fuel consumption.

Optimised travel safety

Increased operating safety is guaranteed by the Nissan Risk Reduction System (RRS), which is standard for the range. The components of the safety package include a mast lock system, a parking brake with integrated lock release button, a seat belt alarm and a chassis that is designed for maximum all-round vision. The mast lock blocks all lift and tilt functions of the truck if the driver leaves the seat. Accidental forklift movements that could cause accidents are therefore avoided. Moreover, the safety is improved by acoustic and visual warnings. The wide tyre tread also gives the GX great stability, which is particularly advantageous when lifting heavy loads to high lift heights.
