UniCarriers boosts safety with new truck enhancements

Written by UniCarriers, 6-okt-2022 14:22:44

The UniCarriers OTP tow tractor series and O-Range of low level order pickers have undergone several crucial changes in line with new EN1175 electrical installation requirements for industrial trucks.

Components including control system safety functions, design specifications, safety requirements for lithium-ion energy sources, as well connectors and contactors, have been improved to enhance truck safety and performance.

Flexible transport

The O-Range includes OEP and OLP models that are ideal for high-intensity picking operations. These low level order pickers combine outstanding performance, exceptional ergonomic design and practical features to ensure operators work efficiently and safely.

Instant Launch technology allows the operator to accelerate immediately when boarding, while Boost Effect technology enables the truck to reach maximum speed within seconds, supporting faster picking and higher productivity.

Similar in design, the OTP tow tractor is a flexible option well suited for logistic trains used in feeding assembly lines, e-commerce order picking, or transporting goods throughout hospitals and airports.
The tow tractor can be connected to suitable trailer equipment using varied tow pins, allowing the OTP series to adapt to new or existing logistic train applications.

Optimum power

The O-Range of low level order pickers and the OTP tow tractor series both offer Li-ION battery options.

Li-ION offers unrivalled benefits including longer battery lifetime and minimal energy loss during charge, making it the ideal power source for multi-shift operations. With Li-ION batteries, trucks can be opportunity charged quickly even for brief periods – achieving 50% charge in as little as 30 minutes.

Higher sustained voltage results in better performance even at lower battery charge levels, allowing operators to maintain productivity throughout long shifts.
Using Li-ION batteries is a safer option compared to lead acid. Li-ION batteries do not require maintenance or topping up, and there are zero emissions. There is also no need for battery changes mid shift, helping to further minimise downtime.
