Who will be the UK's Forklift Operator of the Year 2018? An eighteen-person expert jury is set to make the difficult decision at the Talents in Logistics conference at the Telford International Centre on 21 June 2018. Before the winner is chosen, finalists will need to put their skills to the test on UniCarriers trucks. The international industrial trucks manufacturer is supplying the latest generation TX3 electric counterbalance trucks for the event. It is now the second year running that UniCarriers is providing support for Forklift Operator of the Year in its capacity as the award sponsor.

The twenty finalists will need to complete a series of theory and practical tests in the final round of the competition. One of these tests involves safely and precisely manoeuvring loads in a confined space. The new UniCarriers TX3 counterbalance truck will be taking on a main role in the competition alongside the talented drivers. Already honoured with the Red Dot Award for its impressive combination of function and design, this electric truck will also serve as a test vehicle for the finalists. The TX3 offers ideal characteristics for the test thanks to its ergonomically designed cab and a safety package with sixteen functions featured as standard. The chassis and lifting mast design conforms to the UniCarriers ProVision concept, helping to improve the driver's view significantly. Moreover, the TX3 is not only very quiet, but is also one of the most economical vehicles in its class with consumption of 4.2 kWh in the 1.6 t model.

A jury of eighteen experts from the fields of logistics and transport will decide on the Forklift Operator of the Year 2018, with the winner announced the very same evening at the Talent in Logistics Awards. Chris Bates, Sales Director at UniCarriers UK, will present the winner with the coveted award. "More than 2.2 million people ensure that our logistics operations run smoothly in the UK and Ireland. The Talent in Logistics Awards give us the opportunity to thank them for their day-to-day commitment," affirms Bates, explaining why UniCarriers sponsors the awards. The industrial trucks manufacturer will be showcasing the new TX3 and its other logistics and warehouse solutions on its stand in the conference's information zone.

Talent in Logistics is an annual one-day conference with workshops, discussion forums and lectures for employees in the UK and Ireland transport and logistics sector. Awards are presented in sixteen different categories as part of the event at the Telford International Centre, including Forklift Operator of the Year.
