After being honoured as Materials Handling Equipment Provider of the Year twice in the last two years, UniCarriers has now won in the Customer Service category at the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution (TCS&D) Awards 2019. The globally active developer and manufacturer of industrial trucks convinced the jury with its high quality level of service. The TCS&D Awards were created to recognise companies and individuals making a difference in the temperature controlled storage and distribution industry. With its comprehensive range of forklift trucks UniCarriers has been providing excellent logistics solutions for this sector for more than 50 years.
The award ceremony was held in the course of the two-day TCS&D Exhibition at the East of England Arena in Peterborough. UniCarriers UK Service Director Paul Jones was delighted to comment: “It’s particularly pleasing to receive this award as we celebrate the 50th Birthday for our UK operation. I believe that our stable and vastly experienced Service Team are key to delivering Customer centric support and understand its real value to our Customers in their intense operations. Realtime monitoring of every single job helps us to drive our performance and this award reassures me that we are delivering our promises to our customers”. The UniCarriers UK Service staff based in Thame and the service engineers offer an extended care and standby service for customers. Therefore, UniCarriers excels with a first time fix rate of above 95 percent.
From start to finish, it is UniCarriers ambition to improve the efficiency of their customers’ material handling operation. Throughout the materials handling process with their customers, UniCarriers endeavour to convey exceptional service, by building trust, brand awareness, in turn reduce problems and costs. Exceptional customer service does not just sit with UniCarriers Service teams and engineers. A customer service philosophy carries through to all parts of the UniCarriers UK business including sales teams, parts and short term hire.
Facing harsh cold store requirements as partners
With its TERGO® reach truck family, the battery solutions and the integral approach of comprehensive advice and constant exchange with the customer as a partner, UniCarriers is perfectly positioned for the harsh requirements of cold store logistics. At the TCS&D Exhibition, the truck manufacturer presented its TX4 Counterbalance with cold store specification – whilst a UniCarriers TERGO® UHD reach truck could also be seen in action at the live TCS&D Demo area. The counterbalance truck is the 4-wheel-brother of UniCarriers’ IFOY award winning TX3. With special hydraulic oils and a heating element, both trucks ensure reliable operation in sub-zero temperatures. At such circumstances, the risk of efficiency fluctuations is high due to quickly deteriorating battery performance. UniCarriers developed the Battsman system for this purpose – enabling a fast, safe and ergonomic battery replacement and thus minimizing moisture build-up. That is why UniCarriers’ customers as for example, the long-standing partner Chiltern Cold Storage headquartered in Peterborough are convinced by the high level of reliability.
The TCS&D Exhibition promotes innovation and technology in the perishable product supply chain and, therefore, is an established event for the frozen and chilled foods and pharmaceutical sectors.
