UniCarriers Corporation (Headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO, Akira Shiki; “UniCarriers” or “we” hereafter) hereby informs all concerned that, as was announced on September 29, 2016, Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto Prefecture; President and CEO, Hideaki Ninomiya; “ Mitsubishi Nichiyu ” hereafter), which owns 35 % of UniCarriers’s stock, additionally acquired all of the 65% share of UniCarriers’s stock held by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Forklift & Engine Turbocharger Holdings, Ltd. (Headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO, Atsushi Maekawa; “M-FET” hereafter) and completed procedures for transformation of UniCarriers into a wholly-owned subsidiary. This transformation into a wholly-owned subsidiary will apply retroactively, beginning on January 1, 2017.

Up, up and away from the warehouse

With the EPM 100 and the EPH 125, UniCarriers is launching two more models from its completely revised picking range into the market.

Available for order from November 15th, these new machines complete the order picker family, which also includes the EPL 100 introduced in January 2016. These three vehicles now allow UniCarriers to offer customised solutions for low, medium and extra high pick heights. Thanks to their ergonomic driver cabs and advanced safety systems, the order pickers present an ideal workstation for efficient picking processes.

On September 29th, UniCarriers Corporation (Headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO, Akira Shiki; “UniCarriers” or “we” hereafter) decided to start preparations for a business merger with a targeted starting date of October 2017 with Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto Prefecture; President and CEO, Hideaki Ninomiya; “MN” hereafter) which owns 35% of UniCarriers total stock.

IMHX 2016

UniCarriers will be presenting its comprehensive product and service portfolio on Stand D70 in Hall 9 at the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) in Birmingham from 13-16 September 2016. One special highlight on the exhibition stand is the new, highly versatile medium level order picker EPL 100. Being presented to British trade professionals for the first time, this vehicle forms part of a fully revised order picker generation. Stand visitors will also gain insight into the new UniCarriers 360° integral service concept, which covers warehouse and logistics planning, fleet management and flexible financing and lease models.

Low emission values with no diesel particulate filter

Since April 2016, UniCarriers has an optional new combustion engine with no diesel particulate filter in its range, for its counterbalance trucks in the GX series. With the Advanced Turbo Diesel (ATD) ZD-30, the international forklift truck manufacturer meets the increasing demand for engines that all
ow straightforward maintenance and cause no forklift truck downtimes due to regeneration of diesel particulate filters. The ZD-30 complies with the current emission standards and achieves performance values that are identical to those of the other UniCarriers engines with diesel particulate filters.

UniCarriers presents new online Fleet Management

The international forklift manufacturer UniCarriers has expanded its product range by a new data-based fleet management solution. The VOM (Vehicle and Operator Management) system evaluates all the performance data from the Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) used: from condition of the vehicle through usage intensity to vehicle and driver data. Daily reports offer customers the optimal basis to visualize improvement potential in the warehouse, increase fleet productivity and reduce operating costs. The solution is not manufacturer-dependent and can be used even for mixed fleets.

As notified on July 31, 2015, as of today, all shares of UniCarriers Holdings Corporation (“UniCarriers” headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa; Akira Shiki, President and CEO) have been transferred to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Forklift & Engine Turbocharger Holdings, Ltd. (“MFET” headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa; Atsushi Maekawa, President and CEO) which is a 100% owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (“MHI” headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Shunichi Miyanaga, President and CEO) and Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift Co., Ltd. (“MN” headquartered in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto; Hideaki Ninomiya, President and CEO) .

Growth Strategy for Sales and Service

In Hall 26, Booth G09, UniCarriers is presenting its international growth strategy for sales and service. Part of the strategy is the bundling of all services in the modular service model UniCarriers 360°. Thereby UniCarriers creates a transparent and uniform platform for its services. Furthermore, the forklift manufacturer will introduce a premium partner status for selected dealers from 2017 and thus strengthen its dealer network as a crucial complement for direct sales. With this strategy UniCarriers is further developing its position as overall supplier for the European market.

New service package: all round view of the customer with UniCarriers 360°

UniCarriers has fundamentally revised and expanded its service model. In hall 9 on stand 9B33, the international forklift manufacturer presents the new UniCarriers 360° service concept for the first time. The package brings together all customer and after-sales services in one modular system. As such, customers have the opportunity to select an individual performance package from the areas of forklifts, finance, after-sales, fleet management and logistics software.

As of now, Equipment Vice President Mikael Persson and Parts and Distribution Vice President Magnus Berg have augmented the ranks of the leadership at UniCarriers. The international manufacturer of industrial trucks has created the positions in order to expand further the product management and aftermarket divisions. In future, both managers will primarily drive forward technical support and the sale of spare parts.
